ibi visited the Mount Washington State Park, a 60.3-acre park on the summit of the Northeast's highest peak (6,288.2 ft tall).

Facts about this location:

1. The summit holds the world record for the highest measured surface wind speed (not in a tornado or hurricane) at 231 mph.
2. The historic Mt Washington Cog Railway, completed in 1869, still climbs to the summit daily during the summer.
3. On a clear day, the 6,288-foot summit offers views up to 130 miles, to see into New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York and Quebec.
